For the few of you who are unaware of the happenings of the current world championship chess match - today was an exciting day.
Let me update you. The match is between the beloved, tactical Indian Viswanathan Anand and the stoic, positional Russian Vladimir Kramnik.
It is best of 12. First to 6.5 points wins (you get 1 point for a win, .5 point for a draw, and get 0 points for a loss).
The first 6 games were surprisingly one-sided. Anand won 3 and drew 3. Giving him a 4.5-1.5 lead, which basically secured the match.
3 draws later the score was 6-3 in favor of Anand; needing just 1 draw to clinch the title.
Then today Kramnik broke through and destroyed Anand in 29 moves, finally breathing competitive excitement into the match. Now Kramnik must win the remaining 2 games to force a tie break. Wow! I can hardly sleep.
